Egg Donor

What Is Egg Donation?

Egg donation is a medical procedure where a healthy woman donates her eggs to help another woman conceive. The donated eggs are fertilized with the recipient's partner’s sperm or donor sperm in a lab, and the resulting embryos are transferred into the recipient’s uterus for pregnancy. This process is a crucial option for women facing infertility due to conditions like premature menopause, ovarian failure, or advanced age.

Our Procedure for Egg Donor Will Include:

  • Screening and Matching
            * Egg donors undergo medical, genetic, and psychological evaluations to ensure they are fit for donation.
            * The donor is matched with a recipient based on physical and other characteristics.
  • Synchronizing Menstrual Cycles
            * Both the donor and recipient's cycles are aligned using medications.
            * The donor takes hormonal injections to stimulate the production of multiple eggs.
  • Egg Retrieval
             * Mature eggs are retrieved from the donor's ovaries through a minor procedure under anesthesia.
  • Fertilization
            * In a lab, retrieved eggs are fertilized with sperm
            * Embryos are grown for 3-5 days, and any extra embryos may be frozen for future use.
  • Embryo Transfer
            * 1-2 embryos are transferred into the recipient's uterus.  The recipient also takes medications to prepare her uterus for implantation.
  • Pregnancy Test
            * A blood test is done after 2 weeks to check for pregnancy.
