Paternal Lymphocyte Immunization

Paternal Lymphocyte Immunization (PLI)

Paternal Lymphocyte Immunization (PLI) is a treatment used to treat infertility When a couple is experiencing repeated miscarriages or pregnancy loss because of immune system issues, given that the developing child is a product of both the mother & father's genes, the mother's immune system may occasionally fight it because it perceives it as alien. Pregnancy can proceed smoothly when PLI helps the mother's body "get used to" the father's genetic material.

Our Procedure for Paternal Lymphocyte Immunization (PLI) Will Include:

  • To begin the treatment, a small sample of blood is drawn from the male partner ( or from the sperm donor, if that applies). From this sample, the white blood cells — specifically Lymphocytes are precisely separated and prepared into a special concentrated result.
  • This result is also gently fitted into the skin of the woman’s forearm using tiny, shallow injections. The process is quick, and most people find it nearly effortless. An alternate round of injections is generally given three to four weeks later to help support the vulnerable system's response
  • If Lymphocyte levels high, the lab can usually prepare a strong, effective lymphocyte solution. The treatment can proceed without delay. Higher counts often mean there's enough immune material to create an adequate response in just one or two rounds of injections.
  • If Lymphocyte levels low, there may not be enough cells to prepare a proper dose. It is usually recommended that the couple wait 4 weeks following the injections before attempting to conceive in order to allow the body to adjust and react to the treatment.

  •           Through this process for a perfect immunization schedule, doctors will review how the vulnerable system has responded and decide whether a fresh supporter injection is required to support the chances of a healthy gestation.
